Vietnam was the third largest oil and gas producer in Southeast Asia with output of about 326,000
barrels per day in 2011. According to experts in the domestic and international oil and gas industry, Vietnam’s GDP growth in recent years together with the economic recovery in the coming years will lead to an increase in energy demand of 500 percent by 2025 compared to the present. Great demand in using energy to serve for socioeconomic development may change Vietnam from oil and gas producer to
importer by 2014 despite their efforts in expanding oil and
gas production operations.
Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the knowledge, upgrade technology and acquire experiences in advanced techniques for enterprises in the oil and gas industry. The OSEA2012 will be a useful forum for Vietnam’s oil and gas enterprises.
Oil and gas enterprises will have conditions to update the newest information on technology, challenges and development trends in the oil and gas industry through the OSEA2012. Renowned experts and managers in the oil and gas industry will exchange and share information on important issues, such as global outlook and its impact on Asia, trends and commercial challenges, technological improvements in production and offshore exploitation development, offshore safety management and LNG and natural gas development. In addition, a technical forum on equipment, production strengthening and sustainable energy management will also be held in order to supplement knowledge for participants on practical approaches to solve technical challenges.
The SES said that thousands of stores designed to display and introduce technology, products and services in the OSEA2012 had been sold since March 2012, an increase of 14.6 percent compared to the OSEA2010 with total area of 31,000sq.m.
